ummmmmm gee thanks i think. I realize that he/she will get much larger and was planning on upgrading him to a larger tank when he gets bigger. that being said you really didn't answer the question. i didn't ask about the possibilities of my water quality causing it. I know enough to check that first before asking others stupid questions. I was wondering if some freshwater invertebrate disease/condition could do it. but thanks anyway..........scott
