I have birds, and the mite thing you hang on the cage is actually very bad for birds, so I wouldn't use it with hermits. I did read somewhere that complete dunking of the crab helped. But if you don't sanitize the cage completely-they just come back.


: They might be a problem for the hermit crab, or they might not. Hard to tell. If you want to get rid of them, pet stores sell these things you hang on bird cages to get rid of mites. If they're safe for birds, i'd assume that they'd be safe for hermits?
