Keep in mind that plants release oxygen during lighting hours, but consume oxygen in the night hours. Too many plants will rob your fish of needed oxygen levels. Try to go more with rocks for hiding places and some plant cover. Plants are also difficult to maintain in the aquarium as they need appropriate "feedings" to maintain them, and certain plants can only grow in certain water conditions. And of course, all dead and dying plants need to be removed before they kill your fish.
So, just some more info for you to consider before planting your entire tank.
:I have decided not to go with the fry tank but to add tons of cover to my 55 gallon aquarium. Can I let the guppy fry live (or die) on their own and still have baby guppies? I plan to cover the entire bottom of my tank with plants. How many would live naturally? If anyone has had luck with this approach please help!
