Yes, Fin/Tail rot is contagious, so good job with treating the tank. The melafix and salt is a good treatment. If you have any other fish in the tank other than the guppies, you may want to keep an eye on them so they don't nip at the guppies tails.

Keep in mind though, fin/tail rot is a deteriotion of the fins. The clear part of her tail you described on the female is NOT a sign of fin rot. More or less, fin rot is ragged edges along with rips or tears in the tail section. So you have an age thing going on, now with fin rot. Again, bacterial going ons in the tank. So make sure you thoroughly clean the tank once a week.
