best fish for small tank:

white cloud mountain minnow
guppy
zebra danio

however, few people feel that 6 gallons is adequate for any size fish. do lots of water changes if you want to keep fish in that tank. the smaller the tank, the harder it is to get a good biological balance.

if you use chemicals for health...follow instructions on package. they are all different and there is no rule of thumb. i just treated a fish with myroxy and it said no more than 5 days. it worked, and the fish looks great. if it doesn't seem to be working, you could have a bacterial problem. its important to know exactly what the spots are to get the correct medication.

aquarium salt works for many conditions and can be increased to 3 tsp per gallon for two weeks. lower levels can be maintaned indefinately.

::...you need more water! That tank is not big enough to keep one GF healthy, and you will be plagued with illness (and ultimately their death) if you continue to keep them in there.

::You need a 30 or 40 gallon tank for them, and since you will no doubt want a couple more friends later, why not get a 55 now? It really is the most economical size tank to purchase, in terms of dollars per gallon. If you would like them to live the 20-25 years they should live, you may as well get a tank big enough for their ultimate size now, instead of getting one that is barely big enough for them each time they outgrow the previous tank. It is much cheaper to buy one large set-up at the onset than to buy a new set-up every year or two.

::Nobody likes that answer, but it is the truth. You might want to do some reading on the care of your GF before you go further:

:Thank for the answe and the link. Can you or anybody tell me. What are the best fish for the small tank, besides the Beta fish? and also how long should treatment for white spot or fungus to treat gold fish last? treat twice or how many days? I would appreciate replies on this subject.
