All you can do by buying it and quarantining it is good for the fish and for your feelings. Buy it! Keep it separate for a month to make sure its okay. Both you and the fish will be glad you got him somewhere he will be cared for and not abused. He must be resilient but he can only take so much. I say, save him and just dont expose any other fish to him till you know hes okay. Obviously you keep thinking about him, I cant blame u!
:) Good luck, keep us posted!!
:Okay, so here's the situation!
:- There is this goldfish that is at my local farm market, it's smaller than my goldfish and is a telescope eye. I've watched it for @ least 2 months and observed chnages in the tank.
:1) there was a case of ich, and some died, this fish survived. 2) they put a crayfish in the tank with the goldfish *AND I COMPLAINED UNTIL THEY GOT IT OUT!* (which got one pearlscale)
:3) about 3-4 weeks ago there was a pearlscale with what looked like to be fin rot. Last week I went back and the pearlscale that was sick was gone (probably died). The fish I am interested in has a small chunk of one of the lobes of his tail gone and splits in his dorsal fin. I almost bought him last week, but thought better of it, seeking your advice first.
:*MY QUESTION IS* (thought I'd never get here, huh?)
:Should I buy the telescope eye and keep him seperated from my other fish? Should I wait? (all the other fish in the tank look healthy) If I do buy the fish should I treat it?
:THANKS!
