Hi Tom,

I think your goby was probably harrassed by the cichlids, or he may have been suffering from a serious bacterial infection. In any case, knight gobies are usually found in fresh water (sometimes brackish) - don't put him in salt water. For more extensive information on knight gobies try doing a Google search for Stigmatogobius sadanundio.
