Knight gobies would be a little large (in my opinion) and they need very good water quality. Bumblebee gobies are excellent small-tank fishes but may insist on live foods. Desert gobies are another option, not actually an estuarine species, but accustomed to the often highly saline waters of their desert environment. They are easy to feed and breed (almost too easy) but relatively short lived. You may be interested in trying Redigobius balteatus, which would do well in a small brackish tank, but may require livefood.
It's usually best to keep only one or two goby species per tank. Small livebearers, rainbows, and other small hardwater/brackish species can be mixed with them, but personally, I prefer the species tank, especially when working with a smaller aquarium.
Best wishes,
