This afternoon I finally caught one of the small red tailed catfish I had in my discus tank, and placed it into my main ray tank. While the catfish is perhaps 3 -3 1/2" long, the three rays FREAKED! As though they were immenently to be consumed! Now i do keep two rays in with my discus (the reticulate and my smaller motoro) they did not display this panic at the intoduction of these catfish. But the larger three really responded in a manner I've never seen them display at the introduction of ANY other fish. I might well imagine that in nature, larger red tail cats pose a serious threat to rays of most any size, but this little individual seemed to be of little consequence to them, until I put it in! Any thoughts?
