It would depend largely on the size of the ray you intend to get. But personally I don't think I'd mix rays with most cichlids, although I do have a pair in with my discus. Rays are very soft bodied fish, with a lot of fin area to boot, all to easy for aggressive cichlids to chew. As for the catfish, I had some tiger shovelnoses in with my motoros until they hit about 11-12" (the catfish that is) whereupon they began hostile behavior towards the rays, so they were moved to a different tank. Don't really know about the red tailed cat, but if its anything like my peruna cat it may prove overly assertive of its domain as well. Of course if the ray you buy is significantly bigger than the rest of the fish, this may not prove a problem. Hope this helps shed some light.
