I think my fire eels is bored!

I have had my fire eel quinnell for 2 years and he is now 14-15 inches long. He has always eaten well from my hand on a diet of varied blood worm. He has a nice long terracota tube that he hides in and a sand section that he burrows in. However, over the last few months he has become more and more restless. He has started to beg for food nearly every day even though we feed him a big lump of blood worms at least twice a week. He has started to chase his refelction and has started follow our hand round the tank if we tap on the outside of the glass.

is he lonely, bored or ready to mate (we were fairly sure that we observed mating behaviour last summer, but we have no other eels in the tank). He does have the company of 3 guarmies, 4 corries and 2 platys.

any ideas?

Jess
