I just got this eel a few days ago. There doesn't seem to be much info on them. It was sold to me as a freshwater eel but I did find some info that said it needs salt to live a long and healthy life. Should I add salt?

Also, will this eel eat fish like rasboras or dwarf cichlids? I have the eel in the same tank with those fish. The guy at the LFS said it shouldn't be a problem.
