Overnight my freshwater eel has suddenly become ill. He was acting like his usual perky and hyper self until a few days ago. Now he has been laying on his side for almost a week. His breathing has been very heavy one moment, and then so weak the next that I can't even tell he's still alive. He hasn't eaten in as long either. And when he is forced to move (when another fish bumps into him) he jolts from side to side very violently before falling back down, or he sharply tilts his head to the side. I'm afraid he may die soon. Does anybody know whats wrong or where I can get help?
