So, the procedure shouwl be:
1) scrub it (with no chems)
2) boil it.
How long should I boil it? Should I repeat the process?
I would probably attach a piece of slate, and use stone or sand at the bottom of the tank to weigh it down and keep it on the bottom. What is the best way to attach slate? Are glue guns OK?
THANKS!

: and forget the chemicals and such. scrub it with a brush and then forget it. yes, you can put it away for any number of years and that won't change anything.
: understand though that no matter how long you boil it, it will still probably float for 6 months. that's wood for ya. you'll have to cover it with rocks in your aquarium to sink it, or drill a hole in it and attach it to a piece of slate heavy enough to sink it.
