I don't really know how to describe it (I'll have to go back for another look). The way I remember it, a sihouette looking down on it would be like a quarter, with a nickel slightly overlapping it, then a tail...
They look kind of cool, and I need an algae eater.. but I won't buy anything till I know what it is and what it needs!

:...it wasn't an African butterfly fish was it? They aren't flat, and don't have a suckermouth, but are available occasionally at my PETsMART, and the only freshwater fish I am familiar with that has butterfly in the name.
