Ok, this ones a first for me. I have 10 Discus of various size in 180 gal tank which I've been keeping for about a year now. I recently had a bout w/Hexamita in which I used pure Metro to cure. About a week into the treatment one of my red turq's turned very dark, almost black and has been producing heavey slim coat, her fins also turned a milky color. this lead me to believe it was a bacterial infection (furan 2)so I began treatment for that. After 2 1/2 weeks the situation has not gotten any better. This puzzles me because I've treated bacterial infection before w/this and it cleared up in a week. The Hexamita problem is gone and none of the other fish are sick. The red turq is still eating and its feces is normal. Before sickness she was laying eggs every other week. She's been like this now for a little over 3 weeks. I started up a hospital tank in a separate room 3 weeks ago and plan moving her into it in a couple of days (I'm waiting for it to cycle). Anyone have a clue as to what's going on here? I do faithful 70 percent water changes every 3-4 days. Tank temp is 85f my filtration is 1 fluval 404 backed by a Eheim 2229 wet/dry, I also run 2 6" airstones. I gravel vac every waterchange and run a diatom filter every other waterchange. Nitrates 0, phosphates 0, PH 6.8
