:Hello All,
:I am new to discus keeping and to this forum. I bought my first discus about 2 1/2 weeks ago (he's about 2-3 inches in size). He seems fine except for the fact that he is not eating, and I'm starting to get worried. I have tried Spirulina flake food, a pellet discus food which I crumbled before putting in the tank, freeze dried brine shrimp, and Tetra whole brine shrimp. I saw him eat the dried brine shrimp maybe once and he's gone after the flake but will spit it out.
:He's in a 30 gallon tank with a dwarf gourami, some zebra danios, and two cory cats. I haven't noticed any bullying or chasing.
:Temp is 86F, pH 6.8, ammonia 0, KH 53.7, nitrite 0, nitrate is up a bit the past few days but I have added NitraZorb filter media for this and have been doing daily water changes (about 30 % each time).
:I have one side of the tank heavily planted for him to hide in and have a 50/50 bulb so it's not so bright in the tank.
:Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. He's really starting to look thin and I'm afraid he's just going to starve to death.
:Thanks.

Hi,try some frozen discus food available at some fish stores.Jack Wattley has a good one. Also you can give them frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp. Some people make there own food also but I haven't tried it
