Posted by udylus on April 05, 2001 at 00:53:44: I have an 11-inch long albino Channel catfish alone in a 3-foot long 30-gallon aquarium. I have an external hangs-on-the-side-of-the-tank Whisper filter, as well as a cascade bubble pummice stone. Yet the water is still often cloudy. I feed the fish pellets that sink, and others that float. I also feed it tubifex worms and dried shrimp. What am I doing wrong to allow the water to still cloud? I frequently add water-clearing chemicals, but the cloudiness does not fully respond. I have to rinse my filter daily to remove growing algae or bacteria. I change the filter weekly, when I also change 20% of the water, which I treat with AmQuel instant water detoxifier (to remove ammonia choramines, toxic peromones and chlorine; other products: Rid-Ich, and Conditioner and Fish Protector. Please offer your advise! thank you
