I have an albino channel cat. It is just over a foot long. Has been very healthy since he was small (currently in a tank a built myself, approximately 200 gallons, working on the pond for him) Well, anyway, two days ago one of my cats broke a dish and the catfish freaked out and slammed his head against the top of his cave. At the time it looked fine and behavior was normal. The next day I saw a mark on the top of his head (not in the center but close) The mark looked exactly like what a bruise looks like on a human, about dime size. It appeared to be swelling slightly. Also there was a little blood spot about the size of a pinprick about an inch away, behavior still fine. Now today the bruise looks more like a very shallow hole about dime size around. Like a scratched bug bite or cigarette burn. There is no fuzziness. The pin pricks now looks more like a pencil point size blood drop and there is now another pinprick size wound. Behavior is still fine.
Could this be normal wound progression from damage from an injury or do I have something else going on? All tank mates (3 others and feeders) are fine. Should I just raise the temps or do I need to treat the tank?
Also going towards the pond…. anybody ever try pool filtration for large ponds
