Wow!! Thanks to both of you for your help. You are definately right. Now I have another question. In my searching on google, I came across this page: http://www.planetcatfish.com/ilibrary/pimelodi/pimelodu/276_f.htm
which states that there are two variaties, a peruvian and a columbian. If this is true, what I have is certainly a peruvian. This person also says that only the columbian grows to the 12 to 14 inch size, but that the peruvian will not get as big. On other sites I saw sizes such as 4 to 6 inches. Can anyone verify?
