The 125 will filter 125 gallons per hour, much better than the mini (I don't own any, so I have never seen what it is rated for.)

Besides, you will want to use both aquariiums anyway, it is an addictive hobby and you will eventually have an entire "fish room"! Tip: they are very cheap on-line, at places like Big Al's On-line, and if you hang the new filter on your 5 gallon and run both for a week or two, you can switch the new filter to the 10 gallon tank and be totally cycled and ready for a full load of fish!
