You need to feed the bristlenose just as any other fish...

make sure he has algae tabs, some like a slice of blanched zuchinni or leaf of romaine lettuce or spinach. He may nibble shrimp pellets and any other food he can find....but you NEED to provide him with some driftwood to gnaw on, also.

:My friend wanted to get rid of her lone fish and get rid of her tank so I said I would take her bristlenose catfish. It is now in my tank with 3 tetras and a Bolivian Butterfly. (The tank looks soooo empty cause they are all so little at the moment!!)

:My question is, what do bristlenose cats eat? Is it just the 'slime' in the tank? Algae etc? The tank has been established for about 6 months now and has lots of plants in it. Should I be feeding this fish something specific??
