African Clawed Frog: Treating Bacterial Infection

My african clawed frog I have had for four years is currently experiencing slight swelling/lumps under his jaw, and it has spread to his nostrils... They are red and puffy, another forum suggested that they might be bacterial cysts. THe frog was with my parents, and they haven't done a water change for a while, so I have done a major water change, however I am concerned about this illness. I bought an antibiotic (brand name spectrogram, active ingredient kanamycin sulfate) It does not specify that it is safe for scaleless fishes, so I am wary tot use it. Any suggestions?
