Thank you, Ginger, for all your help and prompt responses.

On this....

I do understand where your coming from, though I would urge you to view some other forums with strict guidelines, I help moderate one myself. In most cases (depending on the program used), all posts edited by admin have a timestamp to say that they were edited. For example, if a policy was against cursing, but a user put up a mild curse like "What the (curse) happened to that link I just found" (but the rest of their msg was benign and had content) you could delete the curse word, replace it with "****" and add to the side the warning: "This forum has a strict rule against use of profanity or offensive speech, and you will only be warned about this once. Please read our terms of service." This would not only help that one person, but it would keep other people from asking about the subject over and over in the future, as they could use it as a guideline. A deleted msg leaves no trace, and wouldn't make me feel very welcome if that was the first thing I encountered; plus, I would have no idea where it went, and my first response might be to post a "Did someone delete my post??" thread, which would be unconstructive and might lead to me inadvertantly breaking rules again.

These are just suggestions, but ultimately, it is your site and I understand that you may do with it as you like (I actually did not know this site was that commercial, so that did answer some of my questions in itself). I respect the fact that you took the time to answer all my questions, I know you didn't have to... I do genuinely thank you for that, Ginger.

Please allow me to keep my goodbye message to my friends, it is nothing personal against this site, everyone has to find what matches their own personality. I've always thought that PH in general has had good information and resources to give on the pet hobby (this site helped me ID my turtle just recently), and that opinion has not changed.
