However, things do seem a bit heavy handed on the censorship here at the moment. I will still continue to patronize PH because it is an excellent site full of good information, but would like to point out that several of the boards I migrated to after Acme shut down not only allowed posting of alternate sites, they set up forums specifically for people to post the links. They're feeling was that it was important for people who had established friendships to be able to find each other after such a precipitous shutting down of their original meeting place. Because of that I *will* be frequently the sites that were so very understanding, simply because they showed a great deal of respect for community - even if that community ended up somewhere other than their site. Many of the cat board participants ended up at the site that allowed the posting of links rather than at the links posted, I'm sure because of the same feeling I got - that this was a place where community was of the utmost importance.
I'm not being derogatory of PH, just trying to provide a little food for thought. This situation will not last indefinitely, but will be very short-lived once people make connections with those they temporarily lost. Posting of other board links is not being done for the purpose of providing competition, and the most accomodating of the many that have been created will end up the main gathering place for the displaced posters. PH has an edge in that the format here greatly resembles Acme. People will not stay if they cannot connect with those they are searching for; However, they will return with those they have found if they feel truly welcomed beyond the feeling that they are simply a business aquisition not to be lost at all costs - including attempting to prevent them from making their own decision by restricting their opportunities to find that for which they are looking - though I acknowledge that it is not intentful on the part of PH but rather something that has perhaps not been thought through quite well enough.
