Hi there all, hope you may help, I hate to sound like a clueless nubie, but... I am! *L* - I have tried to educate myself surfing the net, but have limited success so far...

I recently aquired a couple aquaria from a friend who was moving - guess I'm plunged right into the hobby!

Already in trouble though... 2 of the fish I inherited are beautiful marbled angels... unfortunately one has fallen ill....

Symptoms:
mouth and gills working constantly/ seems laboured
each day he seems to be floating more and more "off kilter" (mouth higher than tail)
-now often seen immediately below the filter return

I have treated according to one method I found on the net - regular water changes, 1tbs salt/gallon, quickcure... it has been a few days, and he has gotten worse, not better. Tank temp is about 79f

Second, the other angel (otherwise appears healthy) seems quite swollen at the bottom - right where the two long, narrow fins attach - I don't even know - is this just how angels look, or is there a problem?

Thank you,
Keegan
