Hey all just wanted to let you know that the advice given about
my egg bound fish really helped and now I want to return the
favor. Although she has not spawned again yet, a treatment of
Aloe Vera (often found in tropical solutions) is what I credit
with saving her life. It performed two uses: It is often used
in holistic applications as a laxative [try going to wal mart
for a gallon and drink it in your smoothies, you'll be in for a suprize!] and it heals wounds very well. My girl was suffering from both of these problems as she was Egg Bound and her attempt to spawn had resulted in a lasceration in her vital area which is now completely healed. Before, her condition was so bad that she was begining to swin upside down and not eating her food. I have an aloe plant, so in addition to the Tropical suspension Stress Coat I cut up two large leaves to a 30 gallon tank and dispursed some of the aloe substance. within 72 hours she was skiming the surface for food and I fed her Liquifry because it was hard for her to eat solid food, this worked well. I also kept the radio on all day for her (softly) because it kept her engaged, interested in life and not discouraged. Angelfish love vibrations, and mine are particularly fond of them. Anyway I hope these tips help someone out there. It has been two weeks since her spawn and I do hope she'll spawn again but at least she is well. Thanks for all your help, J.
