Might be he didn't acclimate completely to your tank. You can feed your anemones live or frozen brine and chunks of meaty foods if you want. But if your clowns were living in it, most likely they feed it when they get food as well. When i feed my clowns they always take the food first to feed the anemone before they themselves eat. Anemones always try to find the spot that they prefer so you should probably let them wonder until they find it.
